Pre-Camp Checklist

  • September 1 - Camp registration online -- DONE, We are registered at Camp Hunt for June 25-30, Campsite: HOPI

  • Spring - Scoutmaster Orientation - details at trappertrails.org/precamp -- Did not attend but I'm familiar with Camp Hunt
  • 16 weeks before camp - Parent’s night conducted to inform parents of camp plans -- I would really like to do this. Let me know what day and time works for you
  • 12 weeks - Leadership arranged, two-deep leadership at all times -- In the works
  • April 30 - 50% fees are due to Trapper Trails -- DONE, paid 50% for 12 youth and 2 adults
  • May 1 - Online merit badge registration opens -- DONE, see Facebook post. Let me know we need to make any changes.
  • 8 weeks - Remind parents that all camp attendees need health forms -- Physicals are good for 1 year. Forms can be downloaded here:  https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_AB.pdf
  • 8 weeks - Scouts have personal equipment list -- see the list below:
  • Scout Shirt (Class A)
  • Personal First-aid kit
  • 2-3 pairs of socks
  • Shorts (maybe 1 extra pair)
  • 3-4 pairs of underwear
  • 2-3 short sleeve t-shirts
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Pants
  • Warm and Cool PJs
  • Pull-over or Hoodie
  • Rain and wind proof shell type jacket
  • Hat
  • Water shoes or sandals, Flip-flops are okay for the shower but not the best for Bear Lake
  • Trail shoes or good sneakers
  • Pencil
  • Notebook
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Pillow
  • Sun screen
  • Sunglasses
  • Watch
  • Pad or foam mattress
  • Small backpack or book bag
  • Swimsuit
  • Beach Towel
  • Shower Towel
  • Toiletry Kit: toothbrush, paste, soap, comb, personal items
  • Snacks, like trail mix, granola bars, not a lot of candy
  • Water Bottle with a clip
  • Matches and/or a fire starter
  • Lip balm
  • Insect repellent
• 4 weeks - Health & medical record completed for each Scout & adult

• 4 weeks - All boys BSA registered (use attached roster)

• 4 weeks - Transportation arranged and insurance verified

• 4 weeks - Troop camping equipment ready

• 1 week - Final camp fee amount due and online merit badge registration ends

• 1 week - Unit roster verified at Council office

Wednesday Night Activity, July 11, 7:00 pm, At the Church

All 12-13 Year Old Young Men: The Deacons are in charge of the combined activity next week. We will be planning out and test various events in preparation for the YM/YW Combined Activity next week. Games we need to prepare for: Kubb Bucket Tug-of-War Pass-the-Staff Sword Fight Stick & Wheel Other ideas include: Hammer Race (requires big stump) Water Balloon Toss We need to come-up with prizes and make assignments so we all know who is responsible for which games and other items.
